Registrations for the 2024 Dover Fun Run are open
The In-Person run will be held on November 3, 2024, the Virtual Run can be completed from October 27 to November 3, 2024.

Esplanade Dover for the 2km, 5 km and 10km races.

Yes, this year we will also have an option for virtual participation, this means you can join us from anywhere in the world for the Tassal Ten, the Bendigo Five or Annabelle’s Run. You can run the virtual event until November 3, 2024.
Record your time, go to our results page. Click on Edit Time and input time in HH:MM:SS, verify your Date of Birth. Your time will appear on the results page.
You’ll get an electronic participation certificate!

Bibs for all races can be picked up from the Port Esperance Sailing Club on Saturday, November 2 from 12noon to 4pm.
Bibs for the Tassal Ten, the Bendigo Five and Annabelle’s Run can also be picked up from the info desk at the Port Esperance Sailing Club on race day, from 7 am and strictly no later than 15 minutes before the start of your race.
On race day, bibs for the Dover Half can be picked up from the Surges Bay Hall from 6.30 am and strictly no later than 15 minutes before the start of the race.
Make sure you get there early to grab your bibs in time for your run. You must wear your bib on the front of your shirt during the race, with your bib number clearly visible.

Bags can be left, at your own risk, at the information desk at the Port Esperance Sailing Club.
Dover Half Marathon participant’s bags, will be transferred from the Surges Bay Hall to the finish line by our bus service.
Please do not leave valuables in bags as this area is not secure.

The Surges Bay Hall committee are selling coffee from 6.45 am onwards until the start of the Half Marathon. 1 $ per coffee will go to our cause.
Dover Esplanade:
And the Port Esperance Sailing Club bar will be open from 1 pm on Sunday afternoon!
There are toilets at the Surges Bay Hall (start of the Dover Half), Port Esperance Sailing club on the Esplanade and the Kent Beach Playground area.
For the Dover Half Marathon, toilet facilities can be used at Huon Aquaculture at Hideaway Bay (approx. half way mark).
There is parking all around Dover. Try the Dover RSL on Chapman Avenue, a short walk to the race start. Street parking on Station Road or overflow parking at the Dover School.
Also plenty of parking at the Surges Bay Hall (start of the Dover Half).
There will be some road closures in place to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators:
Esplanade (including Dover wharf and boat ramp) from Kent Beach Road to Bay View
Road will be closed.
Of course! The more fun you have at the event the better, so feel free to dress up in your favourite running gear, all-weather make-up or even a tiara and tutu. Consider the weather, and dress sensibly!

Yes. Please start at the back of the field for the safety of the child as well as the other participants.
We live in Tasmania! The event will only be cancelled if there are severe weather conditions such as flash flooding, thunder and lightning, strong winds or other unforeseen problems with the course. The event organiser reserves the right to cancel the event at short notice depending on race conditions. As per our waiver, no refunds will be offered if the event is cancelled as a result of conditions out of the control of the event organiser.
All runners in the Dover Half, Tassal Ten, the Bendigo Five and children entering Annabelle’s Run will receive a locally handmade Huon Pine finisher medal. There will be prizes for place getters in the Dover Half, Tassal Ten and Bendigo Five. Everyone entering the virtual Tassal Ten, the Five and Annabelle’s Run will receive an electronic certificate.
Your time will be recorded as you cross the finish line.
No time will be recorded for parents/guardians in the Annabelle Run. Results will be published on our website and on our Facebook page. But please be patient – this may take a little while!
The official cut off time for the Dover Half is 3.5 hours.
The official cut off time for the Tassal Ten is 2 hours.
There is no cut off time for Annabelle’s Run and the Bendigo Five.
We will have mobile First Aid as well as a First Aid Station at the Port Esperance Sailing Club with thanks to HSR Consulting.
Join us at the Port Esperance Sailing Club for a drink after the event. 1 pm to 6 pm
Dover Half: Challenging course on bitumen along the spectacular Dover Coast Road. Total elevation approx. 440 metres.
Tassal Ten: Mostly flat with a couple of hills. Dirt tracks, shared bitumen roads and concrete footpaths.
Bendigo Five: Mostly flat with a couple of hills. Dirt tracks, shared bitumen roads and concrete footpaths.
Annabelle’s Run: Flat, dirt tracks, shared bitumen and concrete footpaths.
We will have 1 drink station on the Tassal Ten course and there will be water available at the start/finish line for all races. You will pass the start/finish line at around the halfway mark during the TT run.
There will be 4 drink stations spread along the Dover Half course. Refer to the map for details.
There will be no facilities for refilling of water bottles. Please bring along enough water for you and your children’s hydration needs.
Mobile First Aid Service will be provided for this event with thanks to HSR Consulting.
If you don’t feel well, or hurt yourself during the run, report to the marshals on the course or at the finish line or ask another competitor for help.
